Jaime was voted off the "Pussycat Dolls" program last night.  😦   However,  the national exposure she received on this show can only boost her career.  She’s beautiful, can sing and dance, is hard-working.   I truly think Jaime has it all and will have a fabulous career in the entertainment business.   We love you, Jaime!

On to other topics, namely work.   I have reached the "what the heck was I thinking???" stage of work.  I miss my unstructured days, hate cramming a week’s worth of activities into the weekend, and in general,  am wondering why I thought this would be a good idea.  Anyway, I’m taking a day off tomorrow.  Noel is a good sub, so I don’t have to worry about the class, and I need some down time.  The good news is that my students are actually learning algebra.   I’m working so hard to present the material in an understandable way, and yesterday we had several break-through experiences.   Whew…and hooray!

It’s pouring rain right now; waaaay better than snow, but wouldn’t it be nice to just have a warm sunny day?   Here’s a nice quote to help us (especially me) with attitude adjustment:

"Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet."  ~Roger Miller           So, alright now,  let’s get out there and walk in the rain.  (Note to self: "You might even try smiling.")

I\’m sorry about Jamie 😦 But yes, she got exposure and that can\’t hurt.
Soon you can get back to your unstructured days :))
We are supposed to get sleet/rain tonight..I don\’t think I will walk in it…

I too am sorry Jaime was eliminated.  Elimination sure didn\’t hurt some performers on American Idol, I hear.  I never watch that show.
Barb, I could\’ve sworn you were an English teacher before your months of retirement.  algebra, huh?  Will wonders never cease?  This gal Barbara CAN do EVERYTHING!

    I\’m smiling at VENTL8R\’s quote —
Thanks for visiting Barb — things have been very hectic lately and these old bones are sure feeling it.  My arms ache from lifting Eric (he\’s been gone since Tuesday) and I"m still trying to catch up at work.
Happy Belated Birthday, by the way.  I seem to have a habit of missing my space buddies birthdays.  I\’m longing for the days I can get caught up and spend more time with everyone here.
We are having a 50 degree day today.  It\’s very odd with all the snow piled up and the air is slightly warm and the sun is shining brightly.  The snow looks so out of place.  MELT SNOW — MELT!
I noticed Rita commented here — reminds me I need to go say hello as it\’s been awhile.  You take care and thanks for the interesting quotes.

The thunder early this morning shook me awake and I thought to myself.. welcome spring.. at least I dont have to shovel you!! YAY! Sorry to hear about your friend being voted off. I dont have cable and have never seen the show. You are right I thought I had the wrong space when I started reading it.. hah!  As you start year two in your life..remember that the years pass quickly and the memories stay forever. You stop in your day ,say ten years from now, and still remember it like it was yesterday. Not meant to be depressing, but to comfort you that you will get through all the tough days and nights and time will heal the pain somehow eventually.  Please take care… hugs……..  Carol   :  )

You know I saw that episode- I felt bad because that short hair girl didn\’t deserve to be there- what a pain! But she should do well – she is good. 🙂

I so enjoyed looking at the photos of your family.  Your granddaughter is growing so fast!

OMGosh!  You teach algebra?  To this day I still believe they were all trick questions.  I think it was the teacher…he was more interested in coaching football than teaching a bunch of sophmores.

I have reached the "what the heck was I thinking???" stage of school!  I\’m almost done my second year with only one more year to go but I seem to have reached a big bump in the road where my energy for it has disappeared.  I know I will continue on and I am determined to finish what I started but it\’s tough right now.  Only a few weeks left of class for this year, then off for eight months before heading back for the final year.  I\’ve got a few projects to catch up on too but I\’ll get there.

Nice to see Spring arrive isn\’t it?

    Hugs!

I watch that show and the girls got really sick and it showed them throwing up and really sick, but they still made them sing and dance even when they were sick.  That was mean.  Maybe it is best that she got off it.  It looked like a back stabbing show.  Plus did you notice the person they have judging them.  Little Kim, who just got out of prison.  Who is she to judge anyone.
