I took Diana and Aurelia to the airport yesterday. (Sob) It’s been so lovely getting to know that toddler. And Diana is always a pleasure to have around. The time just flew by, as it always does, but the memories remain for dipping into at will. Aurelia’s language skill is growing by leaps and bounds. She has mastered some really important things, like pointing at the refrigerator and commanding, "Food!" One thing she loved to do was hold onto me and watch the garage door go up. If we needed to distract her from something, all I’d have to say was, "I think I need to put the garage door up." Zoom…she’d race to the kitchen door and point. I’d stick my hand out the door and push the garage door button. "WH0AA!" Aurelia would say. So now, every time I open that door, I’ll think of that.
Last night we went to Tabor Hill winery and restaurant for dinner. Noel and Bob and Bob’s parents, who are visiting from Pittsburg, joined us, so that was a lot of fun. I’ll have photos eventually, but although the new computer is here, we haven’t had time to install anything on it yet, so photos will have to wait.
And that’s the other update from here: THE NEW COMPUTER IS HERE! It’s a pretty little thing, although different in many ways from my old one, so there will be some "getting to know you" time. Bob will load my camera, etc on it, but perhaps not for a while, as they are headed to Lake Saranac next weekend for a vacation. In the meantime, I can email and I can blog. Haven’t tried any games yet, and I’m so afraid I’ll break something that I’m feeling a bit cautious about trying that.
But, I’m staying pretty busy. Dan, Deb, Bertie and I are going to the Krasl Art Fair today. This is held on the bluff overlooking Lake Michigan. It’s a juried show, so the art will be amazing.
Well, I’m off for my second cuppa, so you all have a good one!
Art fair!!!!
Barb,
Next time u c Aurelia–and that WILL be soon, right?–u oughta hold her and let HER push the button to raise the garage door; what a feeling of empowerment for a toddler. My former live-in granddaughter was entranced by that very thing when she and her dad lived with my DW and me.
So pleased u got the new \’puter, dined at the winery, and attended the art show (I just LOVE such affairs!).
So \’til next time, may the cheerful bird of joy loudly sing for you 24/7–well, maybe not, huh?
Love,
Richard
The pictures are gorgeous. What a beautiful child she is. You are very blessed.
