Living, family, dining, guest, and my rooms are clean!!! Kitchen and kiddie bed/playroom are better, but not quite there yet. Office just needs the floor swept. Patio toys are put away, except the picnic table which I’m leaving out for the impending visit of Grant’s ten-month-old son, Luke, who will be here on the 11th. (Grant is Oscar’s youngest son.) Bathrooms will be cleaned on Thursday, and then I’m ready for the weekend. Sometime during the week I’ll do a serious grocery shop; I’m mentally thinking through menus now.
This weekend is the tri-state regatta in St. Joe. This is a sailboat race that originates in Chicago; sails overnight Friday to St. Joe; then continues on Sunday to Michigan City, Indiana. While the boats are here, they park (moor?) in the St. Joseph River, and hundreds of people walk down to see them. Then, on Sunday, we flock to the pier to watch them motor down the river and then unfurl their sails when they get to the lake. It’s a great sight, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with Debbie and Dan.
Their request for this visit is ‘rest.’ So to that end, I am planning quiet activities…. maybe a swim and Noel’s; some beach walking, maybe a meal out, maybe just quiet meals here. The fellowship together is the thing; it’s the thing for all visits, actually. Activities of any kind are the added extra. So we’ll drink some wine and chill out together.
