Getting settled

The movers came yesterday morning…before 8:00 even!   Everything arrived in perfect condition, and once again, we were very pleased with the moving company people.  In fact, the same young man who loaded us up in Florida drove the truck here and unloaded.  It was like a reunion!   A nice reminder of why we always tip well.  Anyway,  this small-loads company is Sterling Van Lines.  If you ever need to move less than an entire household,  we highly recommend them.

Don’s furniture fit in beautifully.  Obviously, we knew just what was coming and had made what we hoped was enough room for it, but how wonderful to see we really did.   There are many boxes in the garage, mostly fishing gear.   The train tracks are here now.  (We had brought the trains themselves with us.)   Some photos went right into a storage cabinet;  they’ll have to wait to be hung.   But the big thing to me is that we have NO boxes in the house.  I hate the unsettled feeling that boxes stacked here and there always mean.

The truly big thing is that Don really does live here now.  Until his things arrived, there was just the slightest feeling of him being a visitor.  (Although he says not for him.)   Now it’s officially OUR home;  feels good.
