We survived a three-day garage sale. Lucky for us, the weather was perfect. But what strange things these events are. One man wanted a large frying pan for his camper. I didn’t have one in the garage, but I did have one in the house, so I brought him in to see. But where was it? Not in the cupboard. Oh, right; I had used it to make sloppy joes the night before, so it was in the dishwasher (which had not been full enough to run.) I opened the dishwasher; he said yes! that’s just what I want. So I took it out, washed it and sold it to him. It was like that all three days. Boyoboy, did we get rid of a bunch of stuff. Bargain prices for the shoppers, but who cares? Leftovers are going to Goodwill, and we wouldn’t get any money for that, so why not give some one a deal?
Some furniture has been picked up. The man who took some large bookcases marred the paint some, so I stopped at Lowe’s today and had them whip some up…..how clever of me to always save the cans or lids with those important formulas on them! (Pat on back, Barbie). I touched up the wall; looks great.
So this is two big things off the list. We leave for vacation in a few days, so I’ll be hustling around trying to knock many more things off; then relax for a while. Sigh.
