We have lived here well over a year, so it’s more than time to replace the mish-mash of appliances in the kitchen. Easy, right? Sadly, no…not if one has a finite (smallish) space for the refrigerator. As a matter of fact, all the appliances are in good working order, although not remotely energy efficient. What I dislike is the four different colors. One can date the appliances by the shade of beige (almond, bisque, etc.)
My dishwasher is a Maytag and I love it, so off I went a week or so ago to find other appliances to match it’s off-white color. The range was easy: ordered! The over range microwave, ditto. Although it’s going to have to sit in the shed until a carpenter can remove a cabinet and install the thing. The ‘frig has been a challenge. Am I sure I don’t want stainless steel? No I don’t. How about white? No. Black? No. After being told in two different stores that a refrigerator in the necessary size, preferably with a freezer on the bottom does not exist in bisque, I started my own online search. There are plenty of them. Hmmm. But that’s a large item to order online; and then, who would haul it in the house and hook it up, let alone haul away the oldie?
Finally….and God Bless the salesman named Mike….a “French door” model in my color and size turned up. It’s ready to be delivered and I am thrilled. Pictures someday!
