After a busy couple of weeks, I am now in rest mode. With the installation of the microwave on Friday, projects around the house are done for a while.
It was delightful to have my old friend Pat here Friday night. We toured the Ringling Circus Miniature museum and the Ringling Mansion on Saturday, followed by a lovely lunch before she headed further south to Ft. Meyers.
Sunday saw Don and me back to our normal schedule: lunch with a group of his old friends; a little shopping for me; a little sports on t.v. for him; a thorough reading of the Sunday paper (and isn’t it lovely to have time for that!); and a frozen pizza for dinner, as I was too tired to cook.
I managed to mop the kitchen floor yesterday before wandering down the street to have a drink with two women who are rapidly becoming close friends. Dinner was a rotisserie chicken I had picked up at Sam’s Club….honestly, if you haven’t tried them, they’re the best of the lot. Today I may actually cook something; maybe not.
As you can tell, it’s peaceful here at the moment. We’re glad not to be up north where storms are brewing; glad to have carved out a pleasant life here; glad for each other in our lives……two lucky old people!
Here’s a photo of the microwave and new oven:
