I didn’t wake up until 7:30 this morning. Wow…for me that is almost unheard of; I’m more the 5:30-6:00 a.m. type. But it’s been cold. It was only 34 when I got up yesterday; today it’s a balmy 43. Brrrrr.
Also, I haven’t completely recovered from our crazy busy week last week. Then, this week, my friend Joyce and her niece visited. Joyce is spending the month in Ft. Meyers. Last year, we drove down to them; this year she really wanted to see where we live, so up they came. It was lovely to spend time together. Back in Michigan, Joyce and I would see each other at least once a week. She’ll be 90 this coming July, so she’s not out running around like she used to. That makes these visits even more precious.
So, what else have I been doing? Well, I organized my tax materials; called the accountant; shipped everything off to him. Yes, I’m still using my guy in Michigan. Since there is no state tax in Florida, it really doesn’t matter where one’s accountant lives.
Mostly, though, I’ve been hunkered down reading. That’s the real benefit of inclement weather: an excuse to read!
