That is pretty darned chilly for Florida in November. Yes, I know what all our northern friends are going through right now…not only cold, but snow. So I’ll give them a double yikes! But this is cold for us, and normal for them. I think our high temp today is predicted in the 60s; where the heck did I put that sweatshirt?
Let’s change the subject to coffee. I used to have a one-cup Keurig; then I read about the landfill problem with all those little k-cups, millions of them, so I switched back to a regular pot. That worked especially well when Don decided to drink a cuppa in the morning. He stopped doing that many months ago and, although it SAYS it will brew just two cups, those regular pots don’t do a very good job of that. So over the weekend I picked up another Keurig. This morning (right this minute in fact) I drank my first cup from it. Hmmmm. Good stuff.
The new mattress is so comfortable we now wonder why we put off buying one so long. Oh yeah; mattress shopping is a royal pain. Not to mention mattresses are expensive….and what do you do if, after all the hassle of hauling away the old; hauling in and setting up the new, you don’t like it after a few nights? They can be returned within a certain time period, but what do you sleep on in the meantime? And how huge a hassle would that whole process be? Anyway, those worries are now behind us and Don and I are blissfully sleeping on a pillow top with memory foam. I always wondered what it was that memory foam remembered. I vaguely thought it was the contour of one’s body or head. But no, turns out what it remembers is how to be a mattress; how to be a pillow. It just fluffs itself right up again. Slick!
This is Thanksgiving week. Don and I have once again decided not to attend the communal gathering at the clubhouse. Too many people; hate those kinds of crowds where one is stuck in the chosen seat because there’s just no room to move. Ugh. Last year I cooked Cornish hens; haven’t decided the menu for this year, but it will be something other than ordinary old meatloaf. Maybe shrimp scampi?
I hope you all have a lovely holiday; food, family, friends, and football!
