The decorating project in the bedroom, that is. Still need a headboard, but the window treatments are finished; new bed and bedding….a couple of new bedside chests that came from an antique store, and voila! A new room. It’s very serene, not a bad choice for a bedroom.
In the meantime, I’ve been glued to the t.v. for the inaugural proceedings and the women’s march. Trump was not my choice, not by a long shot, but I feel strongly in the democratic principle: we support those we elect, even if we don’t personally like them. I am determined to give him a chance, although he looks to be off to a rocky start. I have reserved a space of six months in my brain…this is his space to show that he has some substance and isn’t just what he appears to be. Please God it’s true.
And please God also…have all the disenchanted people do more than march. We need you to enter politics at the local level and start making a difference. Remember in the ’60s when we went door-to-door for our candidates? It matters, it really, really matters. You see where complacency landed us!
Now a quick switch to life in the park: weather has been beautiful; all the usual activities are in full swing, and life is just so enjoyable. I count my blessings every day.
