Potatoe???

Do you remember when everyone was upset with Dan Qayle because he misspelled potato?   (I may have just done the same to his name)     Ah, the sweet old days; the innocence of our concerns that year.   Now?   HA      Unspeakable things are happening in D.C.  I can barely think about them without foaming at the mouth.

It’s still a bit chilly down here;  and it’s raining off and on…even a thunderstorm yesterday.   Overall, however, it’s seriously better than being up north.   I talked to my banker up there today, and she said, “Don’t even ask about our weather.”

So what’s good?   I got all my tax stuff in order and mailed it off to the accountant today.   Always a relief.

I’ll be playing bridge twice this week.  Love that!

The Ringling has a magnificent new wing open.  I’ll be there next week and will take lots of photos for you.   This wing will hold their glass collection.  I have a life-long fondness for glass of all kinds.   My mother had quite a lot of Sandwich glass, you know…the stuff from Cape Cod.   Once a year she would take it all down; wash it; put it back.   I was the lucky girl who got to help her, a chore I truly loved.  Such beauty.  Once in a while I see a piece like one of hers at an antique shop and the memories come flooding back.

Speaking of glass,  I’m still hoping to make it to St. Pete to visit the Chihuly museum.   I have been to any number of his exhibits, and they are all stunning.    Here’s an example:
