Too long

It really is too long between posts. I apologize. Life here is continuing on its busy run.

First, we  did get the TV hooked up, so the basement is one more step towards being complete.

Next up, after all that success at the DMV, my car flunked the mandatory inspection. Yikes! I mean this is only a four-year-old car with less than 30,000 miles on it, So what could possibly be wrong?  Turns out it was just one thing but it was a very big thing with a ball bearing and a bolt—or something like that.  Of course a part had to be ordered. And it’s actually against the law to drive a car with a big red failed sticker on its windshield, so I was confined to quarters for a day and a half. (once again, I am reminded that I would be a terrible shut in .).  Despite my worrying  the part did come in and was placed in the car or whatever  they do with it. Screw it to something?  Garage talk is like a foreign language  to me.  The bottom line is the car is fine now and I have my great big approved  sticker in the window.

Tonight we’re meeting my sister and family in downtown Fredericksburg for dinner. We haven’t really explored that area yet so it will be an adventure. Fingers crossed.  We’ve explored a lot of this area, but have only done one quick drive-through of the little downtown.   I’ve been waiting for warmer weather to do a nice walk about.   But it’s Chris’ birthday, and there’s an old train station with a Bavarian restaurant that he has chosen for the celebration, so off we go!
