The rain stopped yesterday (!!) so we took advantage of the lull to drive downtown Fredericksburg and walk by the Rappahonack River for a bit. It felt so good to be outdoors and near water.
The river flooded badly a few weeks ago, and we saw the evidence of that: lots of mud in the parking lot and several side roads still closed. It has not completely receded even now. The fishing pier is underwater, and the river is over its banks the whole way.
