Biden had a wonderful, conciliatory speech; Kamala Harris was sworn in as the first ever woman veep; and the poet laureate…Wow! Amanda Gorman is a woman to watch. That poem was so powerful and so beautifully delivered.
The music was also perfect: Lady Gaga has such a gorgeous voice…she made the National Anthem soar. I loved it all; I cried throughout it all. A part of me felt it could finally relax.
And, best of all perhaps, is that there were no incidents; nothing ugly or violent happened.
Oh, how I pray we will have four peaceful years; four years of building trust, of building democracy.
