I’m still waiting to be called to schedule an appointment for the vaccine. BUT: Yesterday I talked with two friends in upstate New York. I am officially done whining about Virginia now. One of those friends has an appointment near the end of March…in Plattsburgh! Yikes, that is a long drive from Albany County up into the Adirondacks, and if the weather is snowy, double yikes. The other has an appointment somewhat closer to home in February. She is afraid they will run out of vaccines by then. Quietly waiting in Virginia suddenly seems so much better. And I’m pretty sure I won’t have to drive more than five miles when my turn comes.
In more COVID news, I’ve been reading about the new strains now wandering their way towards us; some, in fact, are already here. No one is sure if the vaccine will work against them. Great.
We just came from the grocery store. I’m doing huge shops every time we go, just in case. Just in case we are all confined to quarters; just in case one of us gets sick (God forbid); just in case we have a blizzard or something. Sigh; I just can’t seem to stop worrying. But the pantry, refrigerator, and freezer are all full. There is great satisfaction in that.
We’ve started a new puzzle; are waiting for the library to call that books are ready for pick up; try to keep up with the housework; and in general, are hanging in there. Don is putting a lot of time into his trains right now. What a great hobby! And my crocheting is coming along.
We are not overly discouraged, although, even I miss people.
