Ups and downs

I’m talking about COVID of course…..talk about your ups and downs. We were doing great here in Virginia, but now our numbers are inching upwards. Michigan is ten times worse. They were down to 54 new cases a day and now are in the 10,000 range. Yikes. The president is urging the MI governor to lock down the state. But look what happened last time she did that: she was sued; there was a kidnapping plot against her; there were rallies and storming the capitol events. I mean really; what would you do? Frankly, I’m just glad I’m not in politics.

So what, you wonder, is going on in our lives? Absolutely nothing. Except it’s spring here, and ‘nothing’ is a lot more fun when you can sit in the sun, start planting flowers, chat with neighbors on the porch; you know, BE OUT OF THE HOUSE.

Sciatica is acting up again. It’s been about a month now and I’m sick of it. Some days I’m good; then wham, that pain shoots down my leg and I all but fall down. My last bout of this was six or so years ago. The doctor then prescribed: Narcotics ( I wouldn’t touch them); Muscles relaxers (I tried one and was limp as a noodle for 12 hours); Steroids (upset my stomach) and copious amounts of Ibuprofen (also upset my stomach.) So, I’ll be skipping the doctor this time. I did take Ibuprofen for a week or two; I’m off that now; trying some exercises and doing a whole lot less housework.

Speaking of housework, I finally broke down and hired a cleaning lady. She was here this morning, and ahhhhh, the house smells so good.
