We don’t usually do much on the 4th of July, but this year we were invited to a picnic on Lake Anna, about an hour from here. What a gorgeous vacation home: a huge A-frame house on a three acre peninsula jutting out into one of the branches of Lake Anna. Don fished off the pier by their boathouse; we sat on their small beach chatting; and finally enjoyed a cookout on the back porch overlooking the lake. It was an absolutely perfect day!
