Summer dwindles before our eyes

The days are shorter, the temps are in the 50s in the mornings, flowers are going to seed…..late August is definitely the beginning of the end.    But we’re spending as much time outside as possible while we can.   Hummingbirds are our major source of amusement as we watch them feed up for the long trip ahead.  But there are plenty of other birds here too, and right now,  an abundance of butterflies.

We took a walk on the pier a couple of days ago;  Lake Michigan is as beautiful as any sea I’ve seen.
